DvDaffaires:
In spite of a French title worthy of most disturbing series Z of the 80 ' S, the Headlight of the anguish appears a slash' top-of-the-range thriller which shines by a muddy atmosphere in Seven as by a narrative effectiveness which would make well inspire the large productions of the kind. Because indeed, if the photograph, remarkably obscure just like excel it choice of the glaucous colors founds a worrying marshy climate immediately, the extremely neat realization of Hunter arrives, as for it, to offer, for each murder, suspense and originality with a brilliance which is not without pointing out that of Lustig when he signed Maniac . And yet, the choice of the bogey could legitimately let to us calculate the worst: in fact a killer in series robotized and dumb, kind of Michael Myers out of white moccasins, who decapitates each one of her victims with refinement suitable for these feeling reluctant alienated green at the time of their decapitations; decapitations appreciated so much on the sites oummanists. In addition to these innovative scenes of slash', the author chooses to restrict to the maximum the exchanges between the characters, silence which intensifies the character oppressing of the climate. Moreover, the very relevant transcription of psycho-behavioral ambiguities of the characters - each one successively showing of courage, cowardice, of tenacity or impotence allows, rare thing, to avoid the usual Manicheism inherent in this kind of film. In short, even if one can regret, at the time of the shipwreck of the ship, a realization too Cameronesque, this Headlight largely outclasses the majority of the current productions on the market of the slasher movie.
